Easter Hot Chocolate
Add a taste of the season to your hot chocolates, milkshakes and iced chocolates with our Hot Cross Bun Spice Blend that adds flavours of real cinnamon, orange, lemon and sea salt.
Our recipe uses our 54% dark chocolate and can be made fully vegan using plant-based milk. You can also try experimenting with other % chocolates.
Follow our recipe below to make the best Easter hot chocolate at home.
Ingredients + equipment:
- 54% dark hot chocolate flakes
- Hot Cross Bun Spice Blend
- Your choice of milk (dairy or plant based)
- A saucepan
- Your favourite mug
Instructions to make on the hob or microwave:
Heat 200ml (about one large mug) of milk in a saucepan on the hob, or in a large mug in the microwave. Make sure it doesn’t boil as this will affect the taste.
Add 8 teaspoons of 54% dark hot chocolate flakes and 1 teaspoon of Hot Cross Bun Spice Blend.
Stir through until melted.
Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy your Easter hot chocolate.

- 54% dark hot chocolate flakes

- Your choice of milk (dairy or plant based)
- A hot chocolate shaker
- A glass
Instructions:
Start by making a small hot chocolate. Add milk up to level 2 in your shaker (about 100ml), then add 5 teaspoons of 54% dark hot chocolate flakes and 1 teaspoon of Hot Cross Bun Spice Blend.
Put the shaker in the microwave (without the lid) for half a minute. Or, you can heat your milk on the hob and add it to the flakes in the shaker.
Put the lid on the shaker, making sure it’s pressed down, and then secure the lid fully. Shake for 10 seconds or until all the flakes melt. Then top up with cold milk.
For iced chocolates - add a couple of ice cubes to the shaker.
For milkshakes - add some ice cream instead of ice cubes. We recommend adding 3 mini scoops or teaspoons of ice cream, as a big scoop might not melt properly.
Give your drink another quick shake, then pour and enjoy your iced chocolate or milkshake.
