Lime iced chocolate and milkshake recipe
Add an exotic flavour to your classic milk chocolate drink with our 34% Milk chocolate + fresh lime zest + sea salt iced chocolate and milkshake recipe.
Ingredients + equipment (makes 1 medium drink):
- 34% Milk hot chocolate flakes
- 200ml of dairy or plant-based milk
- A lime
- Sea salt
- A chocolate shaker
- Ice cubes
- 3-5 small scoops of soft scoop ice cream (for milkshakes)
- A glass
Instructions:
Start by making a small hot chocolate. Add milk up to level 2 in your shaker (about 100ml), then add 5 teaspoons of 34% Milk chocolate flakes.
Put the shaker in the microwave (without the lid) for half a minute. Or, you can heat your milk on the hob and add it to the flakes in the shaker.
Put the lid on the shaker, making sure the top is pressed down, and then secure the lid fully. Shake for 10 seconds or until all the flakes melt.
Zest and add around 1/3 of the lime. (We recommend giving your lime a quick soak in hot water followed by a scrub with a vegetable brush to get rid of any wax and impurities before zesting. And make sure not to zest too deep, just use the top of the skin.)
Add a pinch of sea salt, then top up with cold milk.
For iced chocolates - Add some ice cubes to your shaker, give your drink another quick shake, then pour and enjoy.
For milkshakes - Add 3 small scoops of ice cream, shake and then taste. You can add more ice cream depending on your taste preferences. Make sure to add small scoops or teaspoons of ice cream so that it melts properly.
Give your drink another quick shake, then pour and enjoy your lime chocolate milkshake.
