Cacao tea recipe
With a naturally sweet, delicate toffee and caramel flavour, our cacao tea is made from the roasted cacao husk.
Not only is it a by-product of the chocolate-making process, it's also a superfood that's rich in antioxidants, caffeine and gluten-free.
Follow our simple recipe below to brew hot or iced cacao tea at home.
Ingredients + equipment:
- 2 teaspoons (4g) of Cacao Tea
- 250ml of boiling water
- Teapot or infuser
- Slice of orange or lemon, and a teaspoon of honey if making iced tea
Instructions to make hot tea:
Add 2 teaspoons (4g) of cacao tea to a tea pot or infuser.
Add 250ml boiling water, brew for 4 minutes, then pour and enjoy.
Instructions to make iced tea:
Follow the instructions above, then cool in the fridge.
Serve over ice with a slice of lemon or orange and teaspoon of honey.
You can also experiment with a touch of a Knoopology; Before you add your boiling water, try adding a pinch of cinnamon, touch of vanilla paste, sprinkling of masala chai, slice of fresh orange, lemon or grated ginger.
