We are delighted to offer you the chance to become a shareholder in Knoops.
Over the last four years we have been moved by how many customers have asked us to become owners in Knoops. We feel it’s now the right time to open this beyond our professional investor base and have prioritised at least £1m of our current £5m EIS raise via Crowdcube for our community of supporters.
Every single investor will share the same class of share and we are hugely excited by the strong voice and advocacy this broader shareholder base will unlock.
Our ambition is to do for chocolate drinks what has been achieved on the high street and at home for barista coffee – we believe we are in the infancy of one of the next truly great global brands, and we would love for you to be part of that by joining us as an owner.
Our story
Knoops is a maker of expertly crafted chocolate drinks founded by Jens Knoop in Rye, Sussex in 2013.
We are on a mission to bring joy and exploration to people around the world through a carefully curated range of over 20 high quality, sustainably sourced chocolates. Each chocolate is the best we can find – from a 28% White from Colombia to a 100% Extra Dark single origin from the Philippines.
We personalise each and every drink to our customers’ taste through the art of Knoopology – customisation of chocolate %, milk and extras, like sea salt or fresh orange zest.
Our business
The UK is our first market, and we have grown from one shop in Rye, to 21 stores* in four years. Alongside our stores, we hand flake our customer's favourite chocolates which are available here on our website, in our stores, and in leading retailers including Harrods, Selfridges and Whole Foods. We also roast our own speciality coffee in our London roastery – a single origin that's perfect for a Mocha.
The UK is our first market and we are looking to open another 10 stores over the next year, and to scale our retail flake business. This October, our first international location will open in Dubai, with other countries holding big potential for us.
Our business model is simple and scalable and our team is focused on holding true to our values of celebrating the ritual of drinking chocolate and creating a new category while we’re at it.
