Start by making a small hot chocolate. Add milk up to level 2 in your shaker (about 100ml), then add 5 teaspoons of 70% extra dark hot chocolate flakes.
Put the shaker in the microwave (without the lid) for half a minute (or heat up milk on the hob and add it to the flakes).
Grate and add ½ a teaspoon of fresh ginger.
Put the lid on the shaker, making sure the lid is fully pressed in, and then secure fully. Shake for 10 seconds or until all the flakes melt. Then top up with cold milk.
For iced chocolates - add a couple of ice cubes to the shaker.
For milkshakes - add some dairy free ice cream instead of ice cubes. (We recommend adding 3 mini scoops or teaspoons of ice cream, as a big scoop might not melt properly.)
Give your drink another quick shake, then pour and enjoy your iced chocolate or milkshake.
Heat 200ml of milk (about one large mug) in a saucepan on the hob, or in a large mug in the microwave. Take care not to let it boil as this will affect the taste.
Stir through eight teaspoons of 70% extra dark hot chocolate flakes, then grate and add ½ teaspoon of fresh ginger.
Continue stirring until your chocolate flakes have fully melted.
Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy your smooth hot chocolate.
To make in a hot chocolate maker or shaker: Just add ½ a teaspoon freshly grated ginger at the same time as your hot chocolate flakes, and continue to make as normal.
